Speaking to the media during a press conference in Bloemfontein on Friday afternoon, Magashule went as far as telling reporters that there was no corruption in the province during his time at the helm.
“I am speaking with confidence that during my time, there is nothing untoward, there was no wrongdoing. There was no corruption during my time, it is for the court of law to judge otherwise.
"There is nothing that links me to other people, that is why am shocked that people are charged. "And let's wait and prove our innocence in court," said Magashule.
The African National Congress (ANC) secretary-general and his 15 co-accused appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Friday morning.
